Artist's Comments   18th Birthday! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat first there was my sister's birthday, then I had to decide if I was going to an Open Day, and then Kimber's birthday came in the day before I was supposed to return to school. So Kristian and I were like SHIT SHIT WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO. The fact that (apart from the Gifts) I hadn't managed to draw a pic of both Kristian and Kimber together either didn't help. So I kinda drifted about for a bit (as I usually do) until one night ~Mayonne and me were RPing and both listening to Koukai from the RO2 OST when Kristian (who didn't know what to give her) suddenly had said that since he couldn't give her anything she would like because he didn't really know, he simply would give her 'himself', to be there for her when she needed him for whatever reason. So there we go. I used a basic but appealing technique here. Quite easy to do, and although is a bit of trouble when it gets changed from norms it really is easy to experiment with. I played quite a lot with it while doing the drawing (and listening to Something Good 08 by Utah Saints), and I was happy with the way it came out, even with the multiple opacity changing and usage. I call it 'lazy airbrushing', complete with bold. I only discovered the airbrush about a few weeks ago -.- and that took me pretty long to find it because I knew about it a long time ago last year. But I liked the watery look it gave (I never succeeded with real watercolours) and chose it. And yeah, it's lazy because I only used one shade per part. BUT YOU CAN'T TELL UNLESS I SAID SO. 8D Kimber took me a fairly long time to do, generally because of her uniform - quite a lot of detail - and her face. It's actually hard for me to draw slanted, so I had to do a canvas rotate of 45 and -45 degrees (talk about friggin' math when I wanted to get away from it all D< ) to fix stuff. And then I forgot how to draw Kristian. WTF. Ran around referring to Kimber and Kristian's ref sheets for a bit, not helped by the fact that my internet crawled slower than a snail during that time. I didn't steal Kimber's ref sheet - I observed the base colours and tried to replicate them as much as I could by eye. Then I mucked about with the shading till I got it right. I also do realize that the background is...light red. NOT PINK. I hate pink. That's not pink. Light red is a beautiful colour, much softer and happier than the stupid pink. Out with pink, in with light red. I left out the cross on their uniforms because it was far too much detail, so YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THIS ARTWORK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT I WILL DO TO YOU IF YOU DO. Okay, enough ramble from me. Go hug her, Kristian. Happy Birthday, Kimber. Incidentally, where I am now 18 is the legal age to drink, but generally if you hook up with Mr Sturluson you'll never manage to drink. Ever.
