TNO Stampede Project
Big GrinWhat's my point? The project has ended? No. I'll be fucked before you think this project has ended. *looks down at list* And that's a long list you guys have to complete.
So, to ease things up a little and speed the whole process up by a lot...WHO'S THE NEXT ON THE LIST? >D Get the .psd file from the last person and edit.
I've not completely forgotten about this project, and if you REALLY DON'T want to be proud of the club and help out with this, you're never going to see this done. You don't have to commit much time into drawing and colouring this (just make everybody do stupid things in the stampede, that's the whole idea). It doesn't take much time. BRING IT ON.
And now for the long awaited entry!

So what in the world is this about?
I came across a deviation some time back (search for Ragnarok: Running on dA) and found out that the piece was for the iRO Wiki forums Stampede Project. So I had a look.
Essentially it's just a giant collab between artists, really. One crazy, possibly perverted, dirty collab, but who cares. This is just for everyone to have fun. 8D
The main focus of the Stampede Project is to show your character making a mad dash for ANYTHING. And not just that - you can show (while running) your character(s) interacting with others. And most of all both you and your character(s) can have all the fun they want!
Okay, so you want to get involved in this crazy project. There are a few things you have to keep in mind (and do) to join.
Rules
1) First I'll be posting up a 'base model' - basically Kristian (who is my first choice for this) in a very toned down, simplified form. The outlines cannot be super thick, and there is to be very minimalistic highlights and shading - in other words all base colours. That means you don't have to spend much time drawing as much as you do thinking up of a whacky pose or action |D
This rule serves to make every character unique BUT not "stick out like a sore thumb", to quote the original rules.
2) File must be in PNG FORMAT. Some of us know that by saving as a JPG the image compression gives your character(s) a dirty aura. If you can save it as transparent 24-bit PNG that's great. If this rule isn't exactly viable tell me and I'll come up with something else.
3) Avoid covering more than 50% of any pre-existing character. Character interaction is encouraged, but don't cover too much up. Also, DON'T modify someone else's character without their permission!
4) One character at a time please! This rule would be sorta hard to keep track of, so I'll make it dA-friendly. See the next section on how to join. However, if you've already submitted one character in and the drawing has got other characters in it after yours, feel free to add another one again, e.g. Finder, Science Dept member...we could do with a random akuma fleeing from us, too 8D
How to Get Involved
1. To join, comment on this journal in the following format:
RESERVED!(your own personal sayings that indicate you're in are very much welcome, you don't have to stick to that boring word)
Character: [insertcharacterhere]
The first person who posts is the one to download first. I'll be making a list of the line, so don't think you can sneak past.
2. Draw your character doing something crazy while making a mad dash for anything. Whatever it is.
3. Wait for the person ahead of you to submit the dev. Then copy and paste, and resize to fit in.
4. Once you're done with your character, reply to your own 'reserved post' saying that you're done and it's ready to move on. Don't forget to submit the PSD file for download. If you want to add another character later on, comment again on this journal in the same format but different character name (obviously
) and remember your place in line.Tips
If you want to reserve a spot so that you can take advantage (no pun intended here) of someone's character, do so. Otherwise you can draw your character ahead of time and drop them in when your turn comes round; this is to keep the line moving. Shadows have to be the same colour. Use the eyedropper tool, it's there for a reason ;D It doesn't have to be a single line of silly runners! If you want, feel free to decorate the line with characters or (flying) objects in the background and foreground. Just remember to scale them so that you don't ruin the sense of depth. CHARACTER INTERACTION GREATLY ENCOURAGED. If you have an idea that involves someone else's work, note them and discuss. Inpsiration tiem! She shouldn't be hard to find - there's an almost all-pink girl (high priestess) behind her. Proves that you don't need to be behind someone's characters if you don't want to.

Okay, so what's the point in this?
The original idea was designed to collaborate and have fun, and also to have viewers go "LOL this is amazing! HOW many artists worked on this?
" However, I also want to celebrate the different art styles we all use in our TNO work and express our characters doing stupid/crazy/lolworthy stuff that they'd rather die than be caught doing it in front of others xD And also, free advertising! |D
How big will this be?
As big as YOU guys do it. Unless it's so long it breaks the side window of dA and your browser xDD
The person before me is taking too long!
Just wait; I'm sure you could do with a lot of time thinking up about your character and drawing and colouring. Besides, the deadline is waaaay ahead.
What if I think my art skills aren't up to par?
It doesn't matter if your anatomy is equivalent to Picasso or Rembrandt. All you need is to be able to think realistically and have a sense of good judgement. However, ask yourself "Does my image stick out like an elephant in a pack of wolves?" If the answer is "yes" or "yes kinda maybe dunno" then you might want to reconsider.
Do you think you could update this journal with who's in line and all, and who's done and who's not?
I think I can. I do live here every day; although I'm usually (these days) working, I still have the laptop next to me and I'm always online. It's not going to be much of a burden unless you start messing around with my brain, which I beg you not to do.

And yes, I was in fact planning to feature this entire project once it was done as much as possible to show that we're not just 'some DGM fanclub'.
